THE AUTHOR
Dr. Bridgette Y. Williams is the author of multiple impactful books that explore grief, addiction, recovery, faith, and emotional resilience through both professional insight and lived experience. Her writing is honest, accessible, and deeply human—speaking to readers who are navigating loss, healing, and the process of rebuilding their lives.
A JOURNEY THROUGH WIDOWHOOD
A Journey through Widowhood is a deeply honest and compassionate guide for anyone navigating life after the death of a spouse or long-term partner. Written by mental health therapist and widow Dr. Bridgette Y. Williams, this book blends lived experience, clinical insight, and practical guidance for surviving—and rebuilding—after profound loss.
OKAY HONEY, I’LL SEE YOU TOMORROW, GOODNIGHT!
This book is a tribute to a great man and great friend. In the book, Dr. Williams describes her struggles as a widow, which she never expected to be at such a young age. For a long time, she was angry at God for taking her husband. Through intensive and long-term counseling, she came to a place where her faith was restored. Her mission now is to represent those widows and widowers who do not feel they have a voice—especially the spouses of departed military and emergency services workers. This book is her voice and, she hope, it will be their voice as well.
THE SHEPHERD’S PIE
The book begins with the Dr. Williams contemplating suicide via handgun and then proceeds to describe her journey through depression and seeming madness at a mental health and recovery facility in South Carolina. Along the way, she describes many characters who were influential in her life--both positively and negatively. The book concludes with a description of her life and practice as it now is, and with a discussion of how negative events can shape a person positively if these events are looked at with an eye toward self-growth.
ON THE PATH OF RECOVERY
On the Path to Recovery is a compelling anthology of more than 50 real-life stories from individuals navigating addiction and recovery. Spanning diverse backgrounds, ages, and substances, the book reveals the raw truth of struggle, relapse, resilience, and renewal. Each account captures pivotal moments of awakening and the courage required to choose sobriety and rebuild a life. Compiled by Dr. Bridgette Y. Williams, a seasoned psychotherapist and recovery advocate, the collection offers hope to those in recovery, insight for families and professionals, and reassurance that healing is possible. On the Path to Recovery affirms that no one walks the journey alone.
